Artificial granite is made of acrylic, polyester resins, marble dust, and pigments. Calcium carbonates are used as fillers, which is then combined with aluminum tri-hydrate (ATH), a cultured onyx. The chips and dust of natural stone are added to give it different textures, colors, and the sparkling effect. This mixture is used to form slabs using industrial machinery and coated with a surface gel giving it a glossy finesse. 

History of Artificial or Epoxy Granite   

It’s more than a hundred years that mankind discovered epoxy. In the 1900s, a group of Russian chemists produced the first epoxy compound. After epoxy’s discovery, it was used to primer to increase the effect of paint adhesion. Later in 1950, its application of expanded in the sectors of construction and aerospace. Today, epoxy has become one of the most used materials in creating marble/granite countertops for homes.
